Janet M. Kareyva, 83, of Catasauqua and formerly of Frackville, died June 22, 2014, in Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Kareyva.

She was a daughter of the late John and Helen Hower.

She was a nurse's aide at Allentown State Hospital for 21 years before retiring.

She is survived by four daughters, Rita Batz, Joyce Nichols, Candace Madea and Beverly Kareyva; four sons, Albert, William, John and Geary; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters.

She was predeceased by a son, Tony; and a great-grandson, Jason Nichols.
