LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Campers return to Jefferson Pool

This week at Camp Jefferson, the theme was "America." The kids and counselors alike had a great week playing games, and cooling off at the Jefferson pool. Four square was the most popular game of the week. But the campers also enjoyed games such as dodge ball, knock out, man hunt, jump the river and silent ball. On Friday we all dressed up in our best red, white and blue for the Fourth of July.

In the beginning of the week, the boys and girls enjoyed playing on the playground and participating in several physical activities. Beautiful weather to start the week meant loads of outdoor enjoyment for everyone. A dodge ball tournament proved to be a camp favorite for most of the morning on Tuesday.

Thursday was our final day of camp this week with the patriotic holiday being on Friday this year. Thursday was jam packed with crafts, games and a field trip to the bowling alley. For our craft this week, the campers enjoyed creating festive American flags with red, white, and blue fabric and stars. We even created a few extra flags to be used for our capture the flag game.

The field trip to Hampton Lanes was an exciting way to end the week, the boys and girls enjoyed several hours of bowling. The neon lights and fun music had everyone moving between frames. Several boys and girls had spares and strikes, but everyone had a great time. When we returned to camp, the Campers of the Week were crowned. Johan and Genesis won the title this week. Great job, guys.

It was a very hot week with temperatures mostly in the 90s, so the campers and counselors were relieved to take a dip in the pool every day this week. The kids loved doing cool tricks off the high dive, and playing some extra rounds of four square with the counselors and lifeguards.

It is safe to say that everyone loved the start of summer and had a blast during America week at camp Jefferson!
