Anna M. Walakovitz
Anna M. Walakovitz, 93, formerly of Coplay and North-ampton, died July 1, 2104, at Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Walakovitz.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Alois and Maria (Stubits) Stranzl.
She worked at Bridesburg Foundry Company. She worked previously for Modern Universal Pants Company for 29 years.
She attended Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton, and was a member of its Young At Heart group. She was a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Coplay, and was a member of both the choir and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was a former member of the Auxiliary of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, the Coplay Saengerbund and its German Chorus, Coplay Senior Citizens and the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union. She belonged to the CWV 454 Post Auxiliary for 58 years and had been a multiposition past officer.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Marakovits of Northampton; a son, Robert and his wife Jean (Gross) of Coplay; a grandson, Thomas and his wife Pamela Marakovits of Bethlehem; two granddaughters, Kathleen and her husband Paolo Nota of Walnutport and Heather Diaz of Catasauqua; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Kathleen Marakovits, Francesco and Isabella Nota and Donovan Walakovitz; two brothers, Anthony and John Stranzl, both of Allentown; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Lombardo, Theresa Seitz and Catherine Stranzl; six brothers, Alois, Joseph, Frank, Adolph, Stephen and William Stranzl; and a son-in-law, Thomas Marakovits.
