WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Summer library hours begin
Salisbury Township School District will hold summer library hours 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays as follows: July 15: Salisbury Middle School; July 22: Western Salisbury Elementary School; July 29: Salisbury High School; Aug 5: Harry S Truman Elementary School; and Aug 12: WSE. What a great way to keep our kids reading throughout the summer.

The next concert is July 22 and will feature The Wandering Singers; on July 29, Satori (a flute, violin, cello and classical guitar ensemble) will be featured.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church is not holding its monthly community breakfasts in July and August. The next one will be held Sept. 13.
The Devonshire site for yard waste drop off will be open 8 am. to 1 pm. July 15 and 19. Evening hours are 3 to 6 p.m. July 10 and 14.
The Foehrkolb family added a new member this week. We adopted a puppy from the rescue organization The Sanctuary at Haafsville. We have always had cats, but never a dog, so this is a new experience for all of us. The puppy is only nine weeks old and adorable. Potty training is a challenge, but she is slowing grasping the concept.
If any of you are interested in or just thinking about adopting a pet, I encourage you to "Like" The Sanctuary at Haafsville on Facebook. That is how we got started. I would see the pictures posted of the animals needing a home and fell in love with our little Riley. Some of the animals they have, including mine, are animals rescued from a kill shelter. If you are not on Facebook, you can visit the website at www.thesantuarypa.org.
This quote is especially dear to me this week. "The objective is not so much to walk your dog, as it is to empty him." Dave Barry
