The 4th Annual Steps 4 Stellar 5K Run & Walk event is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown. It was started in 2011 in memory of Debbie Stellar, who lost a battle to ovarian cancer in 2010.

The event, which benefits students whose family is fighting ovarian cancer, will begin at 9 a.m. next to the basketball courts. Following the race's completion, the top three male and female finishers in each age group receive prizes. The top three males and females overall will earn an Aardvark Running Store gift card.

The age groups are as follows: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and over 60.

All participants will receive a t-shirt, and plenty of refreshments and food vendors will be available.

Interested participants are encouraged to register online; online registration will end on July 10, but individuals can also register between 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Last year's scholarship winners were Colton and Cody of Northwestern, receiving $3,000 each, and Bridget of Eyer Middle School, who received $5,000 from the event.
