A group of wrestlers have teamed up with Northampton Borough.
"In the past they have used the school district's facility, however, due to the building project, they are homeless." Borough Manager Gene Zarayko said.
The Northampton Area School District is currently constructing a new middle school and extensively renovating much of its secondary campus.
The new home for the wrestling camp is the recreation center on Lerchenmiller Drive. Council and borough officials view it as a win-win for everyone involved. The group will use one court at the recreation center for approximately one week. Each participant will pay a $5 fee.
In other business, the Atlas Cement Memorial Museum received a $100 contribution from Lee and Elizabeth Shoemaker of Green Lane. The funds will go into the museum's trust account.
The borough received a $25,202 check from its health insurance carrier as a rebate for 2013.
Zarayko said another $1,180 was received from Converge as part of a program pertaining to the generator at the wastewater treatment plant.
"This is a monthly check," Zarayko reported.
