Police respond to call about woman in flames

Whitehall police responded 2:08 p.m. June 25 to a report of a woman engulfed in flames.

Police said they arrived at the rear of the HH Gregg store, 740 Lehigh Valley Mall, along with Cetronia Ambulance personnel. They found the injured woman and a Lehigh Valley Mall security officer who was attempting to extinguish the flames.

The victim was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment, police said.

Police are continuing their investigation. Police said this is an isolated incident and poses no danger to the public.
