Vehicle hits tree,
fence along I-78
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Jonathan M. Criste, 19, of Harrisburg, was driving a 2004 Nissan Z when the car struck a metal fence just before 11 p.m. June 3 on I-78, Upper Macungie Township.
According to police, Criste was eastbound on I-78 in the right lane when his car drifted off the southern berm, traveled down a hill and struck a metal fence.
The car continued in an easterly direction and then struck a tree, police say.
Criste, who was wearing his seat belt, was transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
