Lester W. Heckman, Jr., 73, of Allentown, died June 20, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife RoseMary (Williston) Heckman were married 41 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lester W. Sr. and Emma (Wirth) Heckman.

He served as a first lieutetant in the U.S. Navy from 1959-62.

Before retiring in 1995, he was a draftsman at Lucent Technology.

He was a board member of Woodlawn Fire Company, a member of Cetronia Fire Company and American Legion Howard L. Peter Post 576.

An avid dart shooter, he walso enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Thomas L. and his wife, Tammy, of Pleasanton, Calif.; daughter Deborah A., wife of Keith Bauer of Allentown, Sherry B. Heckman and her fiancé Ernest Frantz Jr., of Kunkletown; grandchildren Corey, Clint, Hannah, Eddie, Lindsay, Lucas and Damien.

He was predeceased by brothers Robert, Richard and William, and sister Janice Semprini.

Services will be 2 p.m. June 26, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.

Calling will be from 1:30-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Grandview Mausoleum.
