Harry F. Smith, 83, of Orefield, formerly of Kempton, died June 19, 2014, in his home.
He and wife Margaret A. (Mitchell) Smith celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Dec. 7, 2013.
Born April 19, 1931, in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Norman J. and Luella (Reppert) Smith.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a post-Korean War era.
A truck driver for Roadway Express, Allentown, for 30 years, he retired in 1993.
A member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield, where he formerly served on the council, he was a former member of Friedens Church, Stony Run, where he previously served as the treasurer and sang with the choir.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Ernest G. and his wife, Gail, of Orefield, Francis H. Smith and his wife, Diane Levy of Emmaus, Jeffrey C. and his companion, Diane Lamb, of New Tripoli, Stephanie A. Phelps, and her husband, John of Buda, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Marlowe Smith and Doreen Miller.
