Visit the district website for end-of-year photographs

The school calendars are empty, the school parking lots bare, but one place you can go if you really need a Salisbury Township School District fix is the school website.

I visited the website this morning and found some rare gems.

Western Salisbury Elementary posted some pictures of the fifth grade promotion ceremony. I attended part of the ceremony and am still amazed with the Ekdahl twin's attendance record: Madison did not miss a day for all six years of elementary school, a goal she set for herself back in kindergarten. C.J. had perfect attendance for five years– he missed one day back in kindergarten.

My kids have never had perfect attendance, ever! Way to go Madi and C.J.!

If you had a student at Salisbury Middle School this year, you might want to check out Mr. Cassidy's blog on the SMS website. There are end-of-year slideshows with pictures for each grade level. The slideshows include pictures from Halloween, field trips, Spirit week, sports, Dance-a-thon and just everyday school life. Check it out!

If you are like me, you wait for the summer to get your kids yearly check-ups so you don't have to take them out of school. When you do this, keep in mind students entering kindergarten, third and seventh grade need a dental exam and students going to kindergarten, sixth and 11th grade need a physical this year. The school sent forms home with the students the doctors need to fill out. If you did not get one, you can stop at the school office and pick one up or print it out from the school website.

Lastly, don't forget to take the form with you the day of the appointment. I have forgotten to take it along and then had to run back the next day. So annoying!

The 10th annual Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church summer concert series is about to begin. All concerts are free and donations are accepted. The concerts run 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday night until Aug. 5. The first concert is July 8 featuring The Surrogate Band; the second is July 15 featuring the J.W.S. Festival Band. Both of these concerts will be held outside.

All township offices will be closed July 4.

The 2013 annual drinking water quality report is now posted on the Salisbury Township website. I am happy to report Salisbury's drinking water has met all federal and state requirements. If you would like to read the report and the actual test results, go to www.salisburytownshippa.org/waterquality13.pdf.

The Devonshire drop off will be open 8 am. to 1 pm. July 1 and 5. Evening hours are 3 to 6 p.m. June 26 and July 10.
