The 4th Annual Chris Attieh Foundation Memorial Softball Tournament will take place Sunday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the championships held June 30.

The tourney will host 16 slowpitch softball teams of all different calibers which are each sponsored by many local businesses.

It will be held at Schadt Ave. playground, located directly behind the Whitehall High School Campus. A gyro stand with a variety of food and drinks will be available at the concession stand, a live DJ will be playing music all day, raffle prizes will be awarded and Whitehall High School student volunteers will also lead a variety of children's games and face painting for all the kids.

After Chris passed in 2010 due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a non-profit group The Chris Attieh Foundation was established. The growth of the tournament has been phenomenal with players and fans estimating over 1,000 to attend. Money raised here helps fund scholarships at Whitehall, supports the Lehigh Valley Hospital Children's Clinic, ARDS Foundation and other charities.
