Vernon J. Kennedy, 95, of Emmaus, died June 14, 2014. He was the husband of the late Grace M. (Kleintop) who died in 2005. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Robert and Lucy (Diehl) Kennedy.

He was employed by Texgas, Inc.

He was an Army veteran who served in World War I and was honored with four bronze stars.

He was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship, Emmaus.

He is survived by sons, Donald B. and his wife Nancy, of Shillington, William E. and his wife Jeanne, of Lehighton, Curtis V. and his wife Tina, of Mooresville, N.C.; daughter, Barbara J. Reinhart, of Sarasota, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was the last survivor of 11 children.

Contributions may be made to the church.

Services will be 10 a.m. June 23 at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. June 22 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus and 9 to 10 a.m. June 23 in the church.
