Jane Ogle Brannan, 81, of Emmaus, died June 15, 2014, in the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Donald D. Brannan. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September 2013. Born in Dexter City, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harold I. and Winifred S. (Humphrey) Ogle.
She attended Columbus Business School and worked for General Motors. After living in Georgia and Tennessee she moved to the Allentown area.
She was a receptionist at Miller Blood Center, Bethlehem for many years, retiring in 1997.
She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Allentown, where she taught Sunday School, served on the Vestry, the worship and music committee and was co-chair of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Arts of St. John's.
She was one of the founding members of the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank in 1978 and served as its first coordinator. She served on the YWCA board and was named volunteer of the year. She was a volunteer at the Elephants Trunk in Emmaus.
She is survived by her husband; children, Alan D., of Dublin, Ohio, Sharon D. and her husband Mark Shiner, of Pennsylvania, Marsha A., of Center Valley, David O., of Kempton; sister, Janet and her husband Robert Medors, of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren.
Services will be held June 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 37 S. 5th St., Allentown. Calling hours 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. The service is scheduled to begin 10 a.m. with graveside services to be held at Northwood Cemetery in Emmaus following the service. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
