Joseph C. Hruby, 73, of Northampton, died June 4, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Rudlowski) Hruby for 30 years.

Born in Cleveland Ohio, he was a son of the late John and Henrietta (Vlasak) Hruby.

He was a graduate of Case Western University.

He was a professor in graphic design and art history at the University of Akron and then at Colby–Sawyer College, New London, N.H. He also worked as a systems manager for the imaging department at Brown Printing, East Greenville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Victoria, at home, and Sara of Cleveland; a son, Joseph Jr. of Bali, Indonesia; a brother, Jerry of Brecksville, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Jack Kiss, Jason Kiss Jr., Joseph HrubyIII and Nick Hruby.
