James R. Wagner
James R. Wagner, 81, of Orefield died June 8, 2014, in his home.
He and his wife Ruthann M. (Schumacher) Wagner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Oct. 26.
Born Aug. 23, 1932, in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, he was the son of the late William R.T. and Edith (Kramer) Wagner.
He spent his childhood in Audenried, Carbon County.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era achieving the rank of staff sergeant.
He was employed in the financial industry for 35 years before retiring in 1995.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey A. of Allentown; son-in-law Barton P. Snyder of Upper Macungie Township; siblings Karl T. and his wife, Beatrice, Evelyn Wagner, Dorothy Wagner, all of Weatherly; grandchildren Samantha L. and Jacob J. Snyder of Upper Macungie Township; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Wende R. Snyder, brother, William H., niece, Linda C. Wagner and Jeff's fiancée, Angela M. Bickleman.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on June 12, at Lowhill Church Cemetery. 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Curtis A. Sandrock officiating. There will be no calling hours.
