Miller Symphony Hall

Single tickets are now on sale for the 2014-'15 season at Miller Symphony Hall.

Meanwhile this summer at the hall at 23 N. Sixth St., Allentown, the balcony seats will be replaced. The plan designed by Roberson Butz Architects is intended to preserve the vintage beauty of the space while making it more comfortable.

With expanded programming and events at Miller Symphony Hall, the balcony has been put to more use. The seats are wooden and narrow. Some of the seats still have a wire rack underneath where gentlemen placed their top hats.

There will be upholstered chairs, wider seats and aisles, and better lighting and safety railings. Bringing the balcony up to standards is the top goal of the Symphony Association, which continues to seek community support for the project.

A sample of the one of the new seats is on view in the hall's lobby.
