Robert D. Snyder, 86, of Orefield, died May 14, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He and his wife Ruth E. Miller would have celebrated 61 years of marriage July 25.
Born in Orefield, he was the son of the late Clifford B. and Marguerite E. (Hunsicker) Snyder.
A 1945 graduate of Emmaus High School, he was a Navy veteran having served during World War II.
He was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in the Macungie Office for many years before retiring in 1993.
Previously a driver for Lehigh Valley Dairy, after his retirement he was a Parkland school bus driver.
He was an avid sports fan but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Kevin and his wife Donna, Donna Eureyecko and her husband John, Kris Snyder and Diana Rongione and her husband Mark; brother Richard; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Hunger.
