Willard J. Walter

Willard J. Walter, 78, of Cetronia, died May 11, 2014, at home.

He and his wife Ann (Ostroski) Walter celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last December.

Born in Lavelle, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Frederick E. and Helen E. (Banning) Walter.

He worked for Mack Trucks for 37 years before retiring in 1991 as a final mechanic.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

He loved traveling, camping, spending time outdoors and had a passion for restoring antique automobiles.

An active member of the South Parkland Youth Association in the 1970s, he was a volunteer firefighter with Cetronia Fire Company in the 1980s and 1990s.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Ken and his wife, Sandy; Gary and his fianceé, Audrey Schoener; daughters Lisa A. Walter; Amy L., wife of Kevin Godshall; sister Doris Burns; grandchildren Ben, Mitch, Emmalee, Tyler, Steph-anie, Nathan, Lydia and Jakob.

His services will be at 11 a.m. May 16, at Trexler Funeral Home 1625 Highland St., Allentown.

The burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. The calling period will begin at 9 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice.
