Petrik given Wilkes scholarship

Wilkes University David Petrik of Bethlehem was awarded the Mark Family Annual Scholarship at the university's annual scholarship luncheon on March 27. The junior environmental engineering major was chosen for having a financial need and maintaining a minimum 3.0 grade-point average.

Danyluk in student Who's Who

Katrina Danyluk of Bethlehem, a Kutztown University student, has been named to the Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. To be included, students must have at least a 3.25 GPA and have demonstrated exemplary community involvement, leadership and commitment to volunteer service.

Honor society inducts two locals

Morgen Keating and Stephen Ogden of Bethlehem, Kutztown University students, have been inducted in to the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.

ASL recognizes the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work.

Dyonda inducted at Misericordia

Erica Dyonda, of Bethlehem, was inducted by the Medical Imaging Department at Misericordia University into the Misericordia University Alpha Chapter of Lambda Nu, the national honor society for the radiologic and imaging sciences.

Lahutsky becomes Eagle Scout

John Yaroslav Lahutsky, received his Eagle Scout Award during an Eagle Court of Honor May 18 at East Hills Moravian Church.Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1990, he was abandoned to a Russian orphanage system at the age of 18 months. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he was sent to an adult mental asylum at age six. Paula Lahutsky of Bethlehem, a single woman, adopted him when he was nine years old.

A member of Troop 362, Bethlehem, he held the positions of Quartermaster, Troop Guide, Chaplain Aide and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He earned 31 merit badges and was elected to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's honor society. He is currently an Assistant Scout Master.
