North Catasauqua's Carotin Hose Company responded to the following calls recently.
Automatic alarm
April 6, 12:26 p.m.
Carotin firefighters responded to Willowbrook Golf Course Clubhouse for an automatic alarm. A smoke detector had been activated when staff began cooking on the grill. The building was ventilated with a fan and fire alarm system restored.
Natural gas odor
April 28, 12:59 a.m.
North Catasauqua personnel responded to a report of a natural gas odor near Willowbrook Golf Course at 1364 Howertown Road. No odor or cause was found, and firefighters cleared the scene.
EMS assist
April 29, 9:09 p.m.
Carotin personnel were requested for lift assistance with Northampton Regional EMS in the 1100 block of Railroad Street. Before arrival, they were recalled by EMS.
Automatic alarm
May 1, 1:20 p.m.
North Catasauqua, Catasauqua and Whitehall (Fullerton) fire departments were dispatched to the 300 block of Faith Drive for a report of a residential fire alarm. The hallway smoke detector was sounding. When Catasauqua firefighters arrived, they found no indication of fire, so North Catasauqua and Fullerton were recalled.
