Carl J. Becker, 75, of Moore Township, died May 16, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Evelyn L. (Brunner) Becker for 54 years.
Born in Moore Township, he was a son of the late Russell and Eva (Barthol) Becker.
He was a 1957 graduate of Northampton High School.
He was a life–long farmer and owned and operated Becker Farms, Moore Township, since 1959. He was an instructor at Lehigh County Community College.
He was a member of the Potato Growers association from which he received the Farmer of the Year award. He was a member and past president of both the Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley Beekeepers associations. He was a past member of the Moore Township Zoning Hearing Board, the Lehigh valley Model A Club and a founding member of the Moore Township Lions Club. He was a 50 year member, past master and trustee of Manoquesy Lodge No. 413, Free and Accepted Masons, Bath. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown, and of the Rajah Shrine, Reading.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John C. and his wife Cindy and James R. and his fiancee June Pormilli, all of Mooore Township; a daughter, Rose E. and her husband Ronald Wedde of Moore Township; and six grandchildren, Michael, Adam, Rachel, Nicholas, Nathan and Nolan.
The funeral service will be private.
