Enjoy a night of local music at Harry S Truman Elementary School. Both Western Salisbury Elementary School and HST are planning their instrumental band concert 7 p.m. May 21.

Congratulations to Salisbury High School for winning the, Sprout Film Festival Poster Contest. The award was given April 26 at Moyer Hall, Muhlenburg College. The festival featured collections of films and videos composed by and for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The last day for Salisbury Township School District students will be June 13. Students are being dismissed early June 12 and 13. Early dismissal times are as follows 1 p.m. June 12 for WSE and HST; 12:15 p.m. June 12 at Salisbury Middle School and SHS; 11:45 a.m. June 13 at HST and WSE; 11 a.m. June 13 at SMS and SHS.

Orientation for the 2014-2015 school year for Salisbury Township Schools, grades kindergarten, first, sixth and ninth will be Aug. 25. All students are scheduled to report for the first day of school, Aug. 26.

HST will host an art show and technology night, 7 p.m. May 21.

On April 28, HST honored the cafeteria staff at a school leadership assembly. To show their appreciation, students gave the cafeteria staff thank-you cards and gift baskets.

SMS will have an outdoor program for sixth graders, May 28 through June 4.

The Superintendent Parent Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 29 at the administration building.

The next commissioners meeting will be held 7 p.m. May 22 at the municipal building.

Sports camps provide a fun, physical outlet for kids. The second annual Salisbury Falcons girls basketball camp will be held 9 a.m. to noon June 16 through 19, at SHS. Girls will learn fundamental skills, play games and work on skill development. All Salisbury School District girls in grades three to eight are invited to attend. There is a cost which includes a camp T-shirt. A second child attending from the same family will be charged a lesser amount. The Salisbury Falcon Football Golf Classic will take place 12:30 p.m. June 22 at Wedgewood Golf Course, Coopersburg. The tournament benefits student football players at SHS. The school is seeking individuals and corporate sponsors to help fund the event. Sponsors receive a sign of advertisement on the golf course, a mention before and after the cookout dinner and will appear in SHS's football season program. Golfing contests and raffles are planned. The Franko Farm Drop off is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 22, 24 and 31. It is also open 3 to 6 p.m. June 2 and 5.
