Donald E. Gackenbach, 86, died May 1, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Jacobs) Gackenbach.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul A. Sr. and Verna L. (Ritz) Gackenbach.

He was a punch press operator for Stanley Vidmar of Allentown before retiring.

He was a member of and an elder at St. John's United Church of Christ, Mickley's.

He was a member of the senior citizens group of Cetronia Fire Company and a member of the Fearless Fire Company.

He is survived by a son, Paul W. Sr. and his wife Claire Keeler; two brothers, Paul A. Jr. and Russell; two sisters, Dolores Gackenbach Gray and Joyce Fetzer; two grandchildren, Paul Jr. and his wife Noelle and Lisa (Keeler) Pluchinsky; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Norman.
