David Beckwith, third from left, president of the board of managers of The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, was lauded at the 107th Bethlehem Bach Festival, which concluded May 10. Beckwith retires at the end of the season after 10 years as Bach board president. He was lauded during the festival luncheon in the Butz Lobby, Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University. Beckwith posed at the luncheon May 3 with the cast of the comic opera, "Young Meister Bach," which had its festival debut. From left: Brian Ming Chu, bass-baritone; Leslie Johnson, soprano; Beckwith; Jeff Chapman, baritone; and Stephen Ng, tenor. Beckwith was congratulated in the festival program "for his excellent leadership during a period of tremendous growth for the Bach Choir of Bethlehem." He was credited with playing an important part "in the successful expansion of programs, and the infrastructure to support them."
