There will be a meeting of the minds when the instrumental bands from both Western Salisbury and Harry S Truman elementary schools join together in concert 7 p.m. May 21. The concert is being held in the gym at HST. I think this is such a great idea to have these kids play together now and get to know each other before they meet up at the middle school next year or the year after.

Field Day at WSE for grades 3, 4, and 5 is being held 1:30 to 3 p.m. May 15. Due to rain last week, Field Day for grades 1 and 2 was postponed to 1:30 to 3 p.m. May 22. Remember to wear sneakers and comfortable clothes.

The WSE PTA is hosting a scoop night at Menchies 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 23.

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed to honor Memorial Day May 26.

The Salisbury High School Art Show is being held noon to 3 p.m. May 18. SHS transforms into an exquisite art museum to showcase the drawings, paintings, photographs and sculpture of its students. Come out and take a stroll through the hallways and classrooms of our beautiful high school.

The Salisbury Township School District School Board will meet 7 p.m. May 14 in the administration building.

I have to take the time to mention an assembly I had the privilege of attending at WSE this week. A jump roping team named "The Bungee Jumpers" performed for the school. What an entertaining show! They showed basic jumps and worked up to advanced tricks and routines. The students and teachers enjoyed it very much.
