The annual Troxell Street Sale, is a Community Yard and Garage sale on steroids. Hosted by St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, there is something for all ages, beginning bright and early on the morning of Saturday, May 10.

Shoppers may park at the St. Andrew's lot. Proceeds benefit the ministries in the community. The church is located at 1900 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Allentown, between Allentown and Bethlehem, two blocks south of Catasauqua Road. Turn from Pennsylvania Avenue onto Taft Street to enter the parking lot.

Just down the road from St. Andrew's, at Calvary Weslyan Church, plans are being made for a live performance of contemporary worship and Christian rock bands 7 p.m. Friday, May 23. The public is invited to this free concert.

Four bands will be performing: The Bethany Project, REZ Ministries, Right To Become and the b-Attitudes.

A free-will offering will benefit youth and children's ministries at the church.

Remember, residents of Hanover Township, Lehigh County, will be voting at the township's fire station, Han-Le-Co Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, 1001 Postal Road, Allentown.

According to a statement released by the township municipal office, the election board's determination related to safety concerns since the township's fire station access is from a signalized intersection, as opposed to the municipal building on Grove Road which is accessed from Airport Road and is not signalized. The fire station also provides a more central location for voters.

Kiwanis Club of Allentown Northeast will host a Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast at Applebee's Restaurant, off Catasauqua Road, on May 10, 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at the door.

The club meets every Wednesday at noon at the Denny's Restaurant on Catasauqua Road.
