Pauline M. Shellhammer
Pauline M. "Polly" Shellhammer, 85, of Allentown, died April 28, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, with her family by her side.
She was the widow of William Groller and Harold E. Shellhammer, the love of her life for 29 years, who died April 11, 2008.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Rachel R. (Keschel) Keppel.
She was a supervisor in the housekeeping department at the former Holiday Inn, Allentown, for many years.
A member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield, she taught Sunday School there for more than 40 years and helped with Vacation Bible School.
She also was active in the Altar Guild, the Women's Connection, helped with the re-enactment of the Last Supper, and ran the Food Bank Pantry for many years.
She enjoyed baking, crocheting and playing bingo.
A dedicated Phillies fan, she loved to play at the casinos and socialize with family and friends at holidays, picnics and church functions.
She cared dearly for her family and church. Her love and dedication to them were of utmost importance.
Her survivors include daughters, Donna Groller of Virginia, Paulette, wife of Keith Adams, of Orefield, Carolyn, wife of Greg Mikols, of Germansville; sons William and wife, Vicky, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Charles and wife, Michelle, of Germansville; stepdaughters Kay Smith of Dolan Springs, Ariz., Elaine, wife of Lyle Moore, of Kalispell, Mont., Audrey, wife of Lewis Reynolds of Theresa, N.Y; stepson Brian and his wife, Emma, of Kempton; sister Caroline Tress of Henrietta, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Marie Keppel, who died at age 10.
