A presentation by New York Times best-selling author Carol McD. Wallace on her book: "To Marry an English Lord," the book that inspired the popular show Downton Abbey, will be given noon to 3 p.m. at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, Bethlehem. Hear about the glamour and misfortune that greeted some 100+ newly minted American heiresses who, having been snubbed by the Social Register, invaded Britannia to swap dollars for titles. First published in 1989, this book has been reissued for Downton Abbey fans. Wallace has collected photographs and anecdotes into a lively and gossipy talk and PowerPoint presentation, which she has given at historic houses, libraries and museums. There is a charge. Upper Milford Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m. The program begins 7:20 p.m. with Rev. Robert Gerhart presenting his chalk talk, "Drawing for Life" about missionary Annie Funk, from the Bally area, who lost her life on the Titanic. Gerhart tells the story of Annie's life all the while illustrating his narrative with chalk drawings. The finished product is a lovely piece of art. For more information, call 610-966-4851.
