John C. Reiss, 84, of Whitehall, died April 27, 2014, as a result of an auto accident. He was the husband of Katherine E. (Henne) Reiss for 63 years.

Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Howard and Anna (Schaffer) Reiss.

He was a finisher at the former Bethlehem Furniture Factory until he retired.

He was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, Allentown, where he was a greeter and an usher.

He volunteered at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Katherine E.; a daughter-in-law, Joanne of Allentown; three brothers, Howard and his wife Arlene of Arkansas and James and Roma of Schnecksville; two sisters, Marion and her husband Harlan of Hellertown and Agnes and her husband Frank Ortwein of Fla.; a stepbrother; two step sisters; and four sisters-in-law.

He was predeceased by a son, Dennis; six brothers, Harold, Roy, Kenneth, Charles, Robaert and Alton; and two sisters, Ruth Schultz and Betty Sterner.
