The Keystones are coming

On April 29, members of the Salisbury High School Literary Club went to the Reading Olympics at Easton Area High School. The competition involved trivia from plots and details of popular young adult novels. Teams are placed based on accumulation of points over three rounds of questions. Team members received certificates for their participation.

The state-mandated Keystone exams will be administered mid to late May as follows: Literature: May 12 and 13, Algebra I: May 20 and 21, Biology: May 27 and 28. Students are to report to their designated testing rooms by 7:30 a.m.

There will be a two-hour delay for students not required to take the exams. There will be a two and a half hour delay for the Algebra I Keystone May 20. Room assignments for each student are posted outside the main office.

A reminder to all testing students; cell phone use is strictly prohibited and confiscation may occur if you are found to break the policies set forth for the testing period.

The SHS spring concert will be held 7 p.m. May 13. Doors open to ticket holders 6:30 p.m. and to non-ticket holders 6:50 p.m. Come and enjoy a night of singing and instrumentals by the jazz band as well as the block and club chorus.

The AP U.S. History exam is scheduled for May 14.

The art show will be noon to 3 p.m. May 18. There will be works from art students on display, and selections will be played from the band and chorus.

The AP English exam is scheduled for May 21.

A representative from Full Sail University located in Winterpark, Fla. will visit the high school 9:40 a.m. May 20. Students who are interested in attending the information session are to obtain a pass from the guidance office one day in advance.
