Congratulations Salisbury High School twirlers. The team won the Atlantic Coast Senior Division Championship this past weekend in Wildwood, N.J.
Congratulations also to the Salisbury Middle School twirler squad who took first place as 2014 Scholastic Champions this past weekend in Wildwood, N.J.
Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education's Salisbury Chapter will host Attorney Barbara L. Briggs 7 p.m. May 15 at Salisbury Middle School, 3300 Devonshire Road. Briggs will discuss, "A Parent's Guide to Meeting the Academic, Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted Child." The guest speaker has a legal and consulting practice in Media, Pa. Calling all bakers! The SHS art department is in need of volunteers to donate baked goods for the school's annual art show. The show will be held noon to 3 p.m. at SHS, 500 E. Montgomery St. Donations can be dropped off at the school 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 16. Those making donations are asked to contact Jay Linsenbigler at jlinsenbigler@ stsd.org.
Keystone Exams begin May 12 and continue until May 30 for SHS and Salisbury Middle School students.
The Salisbury School District is asking parents and students to complete the 2014 technology survey. Survey results will be evaluated for a presentation to the board at the June 9 curriculum and technology committee meeting. To take the survey, go to http//:stsd.middleschool.org. Salisbury Township schools and the Salisbury Township offices will be closed Memorial Day, May 26.
The Superintendent Advisory committee meeting is planned for 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 29 at the administrative building.

In township news, mulch and compost is available at no cost to township residents at Franko Drop Off Center and Devonshire Drop Off Center. Mulch and compost are provided to residents who visit the sites on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents must bring and fill their own buckets for the materials desired to supplement their gardening or landscaping projects. Quantities are limited.
Franko Farm drop off is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10, 13, 24, 27 and 31. Evening dates are 3 to 6 p.m. May 15 and 19.
