Walter R. Schlener, 78, died April 19, 2014, in his home, He was the husband of Jeanne (Brosky) Schlener for 54 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Dorothy (Dieter) Schlener.

He was a 1954 graduate of Whitehall High School.

He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

He was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and from the Pro Shop, Willowbrook Golf Course, Catasauqa.

He was a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Walter, Theresa and Nicole; five grandchildren; Megan, Jessica, Jenna, Rachel and Kyle; a great–grandchild, Oliver; and a brother, William.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald.
