St. John's United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., Whitehall, under the ministries of Pastor Becky Beckwith, is currently preparing and organizing their second annual community celebration on June 8.

The community will be invited to the free event with lots of family fun being planned.

This year's theme will be "Hometown Heroes," and this year's event will benefit homeless shelters and soup kitchens.

Any donations and offerings for the day will benefit that mission.

The committee is currently looking for donations to support the event.
