The transformation has been completed at 47 East Church St. as interior designers, landscapers, painters and furnishers have given the residence of Drs. Bill and Peggy Hoffman a fresh, bright and airy look as the Society of the Arts (SOTA) of the Allentown Art Museum's Show House 2014.

A tour of the completed show house on April 22 revealed both subtle and substantive changes to colors, furnishings, fabrics, accent pieces, window treatments and styles for the mansion's many rooms. Outdoor landscaping features added give the side and rear yards a more inviting atmosphere. More than 25 design and landscaping professionals, including honorary designer Liz O'Brien from New York, completed the fundraising project, which benefits the Allentown Art Museum's educational programs.

"Our designers have more than stepped up to the plate," said Show House co-chair Shirlee Neumeyer. "They've taken our theme of refresh, renew, redo to a higher level than we could have ever anticipated," added Neumeyer, who said that the process added a fourth element to the theme, "reinvent," due to the switching out of pieces between rooms.

After a ceremonial ribbon cutting April 26, the Show House will be open daily for tours until May 18, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday, Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance on the SOTA website at www.sotapa.org and $15 at the door.

Additional events tied to the SOTA Show House 2014 include a Grand Fashion Show at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem May 3, and an Art in Bloom Garden Tea May 17. Additional information is available on the SOTA website. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
