Donald C. Neustad-ter, 83, of Schnecks-ville, formerly of Walnutport, died April 22, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Loretta K. (Welliver) Neustadter celebrated 62 years of marriage last July 19.

Born July 21, 1930, in Danielsville, he was the son of the late Conrad J. and Ann J. (Williams) Neustadter.

A 1948 graduate of Slatington High School, he faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during a peacetime era.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board in its Wine & Spirits stores in Allentown and Slatington for 37 years before retiring in 1989.

Prior to that, he was employed at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.

An avid Phillies and Eagles fan, he also enjoyed horse racing and being a family man.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda S. Heffelfinger and her husband, Gary, of Slatington; son Douglas C. and his wife, Karen, of Kutztown; brother Richard J. and his wife, Marian, of Walnutport; grandchildren Amy, Kelly, Nichole, Kevin and Margo; and great-grandchildren Evan, Olivia, Zachary, Nicholas, Levi, Liam and Ava Marie.

He was predeceased by a son, Michael A., and brothers Charles Sr. and Oliver Shoemaker.
