LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Article By: NELSON QUINONES Special to The Press

On Monday, April 21, 2014, the Bath Borough Planning Commission held its meeting at the municipal building.

The Planning Commission recommended Civil Enforcement be the approach to implement the Zoning Ordinance. The Civil Enforcement recommendation goes before the Bath Borough Council and to the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission for review and any changes.

The Commission discussed using the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) on

non-state roads that are prone to water flooding by the surrounding inlets. Roads that are being identified to use the CDBG are Forge Drive, Mulberry Street, and West Street. Repairs to Old Forge were estimated at half a million dollars to mill out the entire road.

Planning Commissioners approved gathering information about building a cell phone tower in the borough for better communication. The Zoning Ordinance makes no mention of building a cell phone tower. A phone tower was not projected when the ordinance was developed. The Zoning provision however alludes to a height variance of 30 feet high. Commissioners recommended exploring the idea through the borough engineer and zoning officer.
