Rose M. Tassie, 89, of North Catasauqua, died April 14, 2014, at Manorcare, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Thomas V. Tassie.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sophia (Kollar) Tarafas.

She and her late husband co-owned the former Tassie Coal and Oil Company for more than 40 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Monica and her husband Joseph Fignar of New Tripoli and Rosann and her husband William Paukovits of Walnutport; two sisters, Catherine Yandrasitz of Catasauqua and Amma Stoisits of S.C.; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Peter Tassie; three brothers, Stephen, Joseph and John; and a sister, Sister Maureen, MSC.
