Bradley to play in East-West game
Over the past two years, Zack Bradley certainly has had his share of honors.
This past season, Bradley led the Roughies with 3,047 passing yards and 43 touchdown passes. He led Catasauqua to its first District 11 championship in 21 years and the program's first state playoff victory and run that extended into the second round.
Over his two seasons at the controls, Bradley completed 286-of-504 passes in his career for 5,267 yards and 74 touchdowns. He was instrumental in the Rough Riders' winning consecutive Colonial League titles and finishing a two-year run with a 25-3 record.
Along with his inexplicable numbers, Bradley also gained his share of honors from league and media outlets. He capped his season with his commitment to play college football at Franklin and Marshall next fall.
But his recent selection to play in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) East-West All-Star Game, Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. in Murrysville, located outside of Pittsburgh makes him the lone quarterback from the Lehigh Valley on the roster and joins Parkland's Kareem Williams as one of two players chosen for the West squad from the area.
"It is a great honor to be there," stated Bradley. "This involves a select number of players from the state and I know there are many great quarterbacks around. I was really shocked and happy when I heard the news.
"This is hard to equate to any other all-star game I have every played in since I was younger.
"It will certainly be an honor to be out there with everyone else. This is the ideal way to end my high school career."
Former head coach Tom Falzone certainly feels his quarterback's chose was justified.
"Zack (Bradley) always worked for everything he got," said Falzone. "He certainly improved his game this past season and really became comfortable with the job. He is a real leader on and off the field."
