Coordinated Health facility burglarized; patient info taken

A filing cabinet was pried open during a burglary last month at Coordinated Health, 1405 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., according to the South Whitehall Township Police blotter.

Coordinated Health Chief Marketing Officer Heather Coyle told The Press April 1 her company first became aware the South Whitehall office had been burglarized over the weekend of March 15-16 on March 17.

"After a full review, one of the missing items was a bag which contained a nominal amount of cash, copies of credit card receipts and a paper list of patient visits from March 13 to 14," Coyle stated in a press release emailed The Press.

According to Coyle in the press release, the patient listing included the following information patient's full name, date of birth, phone number, last four digits of Social Security number, Coordinated Health patient number and brief description of the purpose of the visit.

"After a thorough internal investigation, we contacted patients March 24 with a letter explaining the above," Coyle stated in the press release.

Coyle said the patients are their primary concern.

"Coordinated Health sincerely regrets the incident, any inconveniences it may have created and is committed to providing the best possible care, safety and protection (physical and identity) to our patients," Coyle told The Press.

Coyle said results of the company re-evaluating security at the office will help guide them on additional security and what that would look like.

"Coordinated Health will not be accepting cash in our clinics as of May 1, which will further negate interest from someone breaking into one of our facilities," Coyle told The Press.

Coyle also said the company is working with police.

"While it's not our policy to comment on an ongoing investigation, Coordinated Health is cooperating with the local South Whitehall Township Police and following all HIPPA Privacy Regulations," Coyle stated in the press release.
