Congratulations to 'Mr. Salisbury' Zach Young

On April 10, Salisbury High School held its annual "Mr. Salisbury" competition. Contestants included seniors Sinjon Bartel, Luke Chassard, Shaun Holben, Tyler Lesko, Ariel Soto, Samuel Undercuffler, Brad Vangeli and Zach Young.

Throughout the comedic and entertaining night, contestant performances ranged from dancing to churning butter. Young won first place, Chassard was runner up, and Bartel was second runner up. Congratulations to all.

There will be a 10:15 a.m. dismissal April 17, due to the calendar change arising from inclement weather. School will resume April 21, which will be a full day.

Free school physicals will be administered April 22 to 11th grade students during school hours if requested by parents. To register for the physical and for more information, contact Christine Tripp at 610-797-4107, ext. 2520, or ctripp@stsd.org.

The discount to receive $10 off shipping costs for a yearbook is approaching its deadline. Purchase a yearbook by April 30 to take advantage of such a special offer. Please note: books purchased after this date may not arrive before the end of the school year.

Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will hold a S.T.E.M Manufacturer's Scholars Program 4 to 7 p.m. April 24 and 29. The program includes two sessions, the first, a hands-on experience in labs and the second, a field trip to see S.T.E.M manufacturing. Registration forms are in the guidance office. Space is limited.

Penn Sate Lehigh Valley will hold an Emerging Leaders Institute session 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 26. The free seminar is designed to aid students in understanding their leadership style and to help them learn how to lead others. There will be a Salisbury softball pancake breakfast fundraiser 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 26 at Harry S Truman Elementary School. Tickets can be purchased from any softball player.

Note to all seniors: make sure you hand in your commencement ceremony forms to Mrs. Pavkovic in the office no later than 2:30 p.m. May 16. This form must be filled out in order to receive tickets for graduation. Additionally, if you are planning to attend the senior class trip to Pocono Valley May 30, you must register via Miss Piagesi, pay a refundable deposit to ensure your place and submit a permission form no later than April 30.
