Marie Fritzinger
Marie Fritzinger died April 5, 2014.
She and her husband Earl Frit-zinger, who died Feb. 5, 2010, were married 65 years.
The daughter of the late John and Daisy (Heintzelman) Bausch, she was raised on her family farm in Weisenberg Township.
Her father died when she was 9, so she helped her older brother with chores on the farm, including milking and feeding cows and calves, and planting and harvesting crops.
She graduated from the Bausch's One-room Schoolhouse. In addition, she received her teaching certificate.
During the Weisenberg Church picnic, her future husband took a special interest in her and on Dec. 25, 1944, they were married at Ziegels Church.
She worked in a shoe factory, cleaning in a hospital, and also at the Schaeffer Brewery Company but she enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother the most.
An avid gardener, and she would take her excess crops on a huckster route in Allentown. People loved her fresh vegetables and fruits.
In addition, she was a passionate caretaker for many wild birds, making sure the feeder was full of food throughout the year.
Through her kitchen window, one could enjoy watching blue jays, cardinals, robins, sparrows, finches, blue birds and doves.
She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Church, Lynnville.
Her survivors include a son, Barry of Renovo; daughters June Leiby, wife of the late Ronald Leiby of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Violet, wife of the late Daniel Henninger of New Tripoli, Dorothy, wife of Kenneth Boger of New Tripoli, and Imogene, wife of William Dietrich of Germansville; Grandchildren Steven, Lisa, Corey, Stacey, Sarah, Eric, Bonnie, Alisha and Brian; and great-grandchildren Samantha, Makayla, Morgan, Kylie, Maya, Mckenzi, Adrian, Justin, Caitlin and Cameron.
