Edwin A. Krum, 78, of Germansville, died April 1, 2014, surrounded by his loving wife, son, daughter and family.

He and his wife Carol (Jones) Krum were married 46 years.

Born Sept. 29, 1935, in Neffs, he was the son of the late Nevin and Ruth (Kline) Krum, who resided in Germansville.

A 1953 graduate of Slatington High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

He retired from Mack Trucks, Macungie, and the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21.

He will always be remembered for his radiant smile and his witty sense of humor.

A devoted husband and loving father, he will be missed by many.

An avid trapshooter for more than 50 years, he was a lifetime member of the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli.

He won the Pennsylvania State Senior Handicap championship in 2005 and placed second in 2006.

He and his wife enjoyed spending summers at their shore place in Lewes, Del.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Edwin II of Germansville; daughter Colleen and son-in-law Matt Shields of Germansville; treasured grandsons Matthew Jr., Caden and Cameron; sisters Joan, wife of Romaine Ross, of Las Vegas Nev., Faye, wife of Merle Walk, of McClure; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Dale, Neil, Roy; sister Josephine Mantz, niece Wanda Wentz and Robert Sensinger.
