Clarence H. Schiffer, 91, of Whitehall and formerly of Schnecks-ville, died March 29, 2014, at Fellowship Terrace. He was the husband of Althea E. (Lapp) Schiffer for 66 years.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Howard O. and Lottie (Heller) Schiffer.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was the co-owner of the former H.O. Schiffer and Sons, Seafood Express, South Whitehall Township, for 38 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
He was a member of the former Vernon G. Kern V.F.W. Post 8344, Schnecksville, and of the honor guard. He was a life member of the Community Fire Co. 1, Schnecksville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Dianne S. and her husband John Heyer of Orefield, Connie L. and her husband, Kenneth Dise of Allentown, and Gail A. and her husband Russell Gerlach of Schnecksville; two siblings, Arlene Frankenfield and David O. and his wife Sandra Schiffer, all of Whitehall; six grandchildren; and nine great–grandchildren.
