Merle Louise (Freed) Hower, 70, of Zionsville, died peacefully April 3, 2014, at home. She was the wife of Dale Hower for 52 years. Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of Earl and Grace (Wieand) Freed.

She was employed as a woodcrafter by Knoll International in East Greenville for over 30 years, most of which was spent on the panel framing line.

She was a member of Trinity Great Swamp United Church of Christ in Spinnerstown.

She is survived by her husband, parents, son Craig and his wife Janet; daughters Lynne Simak, Lisa and her husband Gary Rosenberger; grandchildren Crystal Simak, Sean Simak, Matthew, Stephanie Rosenberger; brother Gerald Freed and his wife Carol; sisters Lynette Mackey, Joan and her husband Todd Kehler; brother-in-law Barry and his wife Joele; nieces, nephews; many friends.
