Fern M. Schuster, 93, of Emmaus, died April 4, 2014, in Cedarbrook. She was the wife of the late Karl J. Schuster who died Feb. 28, 2011. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Hensinger and Grace V. Kulp.

She, along with her late husband, owned and operated the Vera Cruz Hotel from 1953 to 1971. Prior to retiring in 1985 she worked at Dan Schantz Farm, Emmaus Shirt Factory and Emmaus Telephone Company.

She is survived by daughters, Sylvia A. Dech, of Topton, Vickie S. and her husband Thomas Fegley, of Emmaus and Cindy L., of Emmaus; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons Lee K., Karl J., Jr., and a grandson, Marc.
