Bruce F. Hetrick, 63, of Whitehall, died March 12, 2014, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Mary Helen T. (Sommer) Hetrick for 40 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Franklin G. and Agnes P. (Panik) Hetrick.

He was a Whitehall High School 1968 graduate and a Pennsylvania State University graduate.

He was a staff sergeant, 8th Engineering Battalion Force Troops, U.S. Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War.

He was an engineer at Mack Trucks Corporation for 34 years.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Stiles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jonathan F. of Northampton; a daughter, Jessica A. and her husband Casey Shure of Malvern; two grandchildren, Alexa Jade and Lillian Rae; two brothers, Allan E. and his wife Donna of Allentown and Lee M. and his wife Tracy of Whitehall; a half sister, Beverly DeLeon; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Urello.
