Salisbury Township to host annual Easter Egg Hunt

Attention all parents of children ages three to 10! Salisbury Township is holding a community Easter Egg Hunt 10 a.m. April 12 at Lindberg Park. A registration form can be found on the Salisbury Township website and needs to be submitted to the township municipal building by April 9. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

My favorite thing to do with all of the eggs my boys would bring home from egg hunts was to make lots of Pennsylvania Dutch pickled red beet eggs. Yum!

The Salisbury Township Planning Commission is holding its regular meeting 7:30 pm April 8 at Salisbury Township Municipal Building. The agenda is available on the Salisbury Township website.

The end of the third marking period for Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School is April 9.

Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School will have a 12:15 p.m. dismissal April 16 and 10:15 a.m. dismissal April 17.

Due to the fact the elementary schools are on a trimester schedule and having parent/teacher conferences, Western Salisbury Elementary School and Harry S Truman Elementary School students will have 1 p.m. dismissals April 10 through April 16 and 11 a.m. dismissal April 17.

All Salisbury Township schools are closed April 18.

WSE is hosting its last parent lunch of the year. Parents of students in first grade are invited to join their child for lunch April 8. First grade lunch starts 11:45 a.m. I'm not even going to mention french fries because my hints are just not working.

An operations committee meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. April 7 and a curriculum and technology committee meeting is scheduled April 14. Both are held at the administration building.

The ninth annual 5K Run/Walk for a Cure is being held May 3 at Lehigh Parkway. A registration form can be found on The Race for Adam website. Anyone registered by April 18 is guaranteed a free T-shirt. I've always enjoyed participating in the 5K walk: a leisurely walk with friends through the beautiful parkway, free food when it's all over and knowing I am helping out a young man, his family and anyone else fighting a terrible disease. Please consider joining us on May 3.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will host its monthly breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. April 12. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the 275th Anniversary Celebration. There is a Spring Craft and Vendor Fair on the same day 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
