Sophie Laufik, 89, of North Whitehall Township, died March 19, 2014, at home. She was the wife of the late Frederick B. Laufik.

Born in Ormrod, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Verna (Skalish) Kosht.

She was a sewing machine operator for various local mills.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Whitehall.

She is survived by a son, John, at home; two sisters, Anna Kosht and Evelyn and her husband Bernard Slusaw, all of Whitehall; a nephew; and nieces.

She was predeceased by a sister, Mary; and four brothers, James, Michael, John and Paul.
