Roy E. Werley
Roy E. Werley, 88, of Fogelsville, died March 22, 2013.
He and his wife, Mildred E. (Miller) Werley, were married 66 years last June.
Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Daniel and Martha (Sechler) Werley.
He was a truck driver for Atlantic Oil and Heating for 18 years before retiring in 1991.
Prior to that, he was a miller in the finishing department at the former Lehigh Portland Cement Co. for 16 years.
He also had been a laborer for the former Mohr Orchards for several years.
A member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, he served on church council and was a deacon and past treasurer.
He was the former secretary of the Joint Parish Council with Fogelsville Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diane, wife of Ronald Smith; son Myron and wife Arlis; grandchildren Justin and Robyn Smith, Adam and Scott Werley; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Osville, and a sister, Marian Peters.
His services will be at 11 a.m. March 29, at Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Raymond J. Hand officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. in the church. Interment in the church cemetery.
